Overview
From Pearl Harbor to Peace specifically highlights Hawaii’s role in World War II as both a catalyst for war with the Empire of Japan, and a modern vehicle for peace with the nation today. Students analyze the islands’ unique ethnic makeup, characteristic immigration history, global location, and response to WWII during and after the war. Each theme discussed throughout and brought to life with our unique object collection.

Thanks to generous funding from the Freeman Foundation, Takitani Foundation, and Col. Robert F. Szul Scholarship Fund, the Museum is able to extend Virtual Classroom Visits for FREE to all State of Hawaii Department of Education classrooms while funding lasts.
Private schools and classrooms on the mainland can still access Virtual Classroom Visits for a charge of $100 per class.
